Who We Are

Sara Wekselblatt: BWWG co-organizor/Wild Garlic Editor

Sara has been writing since she was a child. Her first piece of published writing was in a literary journal that showcased the work of LGBTQ+ youth living in New York City. She went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from CUNY Hunter College. Along the way, she performed her work at readings and facilitated creative writing workshops for fellow writers. As an adult, she writes creative nonfiction, personal essays and poetry as side projects. Sara is a native New Yorker and lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn with her cat Fluff.

Yuliya Vayner: BWWG co-organizor/Wild Garlic Editor

She lives in Brooklyn with her cat. They are both curiously watching to see what takes over the apartment first—the plant collection, or the stack of to-be-reads by the bed.
